I know, I know
It's been a long time. But we've been busy! I spent the first week of this month back in the States on a whirlwind tour - Seattle for the 4th of July (I got to see all the old friends and even meet Steve's new baby, Mia), Mom & Dad's ranch for some llama kisses, San Francisco for a business meeting, and a weekend with my favorite kids, Hunter and Sarah. I recovered for a bit and then we got caught up in preparations for Henry's birthday party (well, I got a little overly caught up!) which was a blast. Henry's friends came from all over the country and we had a passle of folks staying with us. We even had two Americans come down for the party - Hugh and Alicia Arnold, friends of mine from college, who are living up in Norwich. There was sangria and Rock Band and unfortunate videos of everyone singing poorly and then there were cigars and finally me suddenly sitting bolt upright at 6am in my own bed, fully clothed, with no idea how I got there. But Henry swears he had a good time and everyone else agrees it was a good party, so I was happy.
Tomorrow I am off to Lisbon to meet up with Elizabeth, who is over for a scientist convention of some sort. We're going to drink and eat and shop and just hang out for three days - it's going to be awesome (but not as awesome as it would be if Lesleigh were going to be there!). And Henry and I just booked our summer holiday - we're flying into Milan and going up to Lake Como for 4 days and then over to Venice for 3 days! I can hardly wait. I never felt like I had enough time in Venice the first time I went, so I'm thrilled to be going back, and Henry and I are both looking forward to going to Lake Como for the first time. I can hardly wait!
