Damn, it feels good to be a Romero
Big doings at the Romero household this weekend! I am sitting on the couch enjoying my favorite Hampshire cheese and a diet Coke, listening to the dulcet sounds of the plumber drilling holes through the kitchen so that we can install our brand new Miele dishwasher, which is coming this afternoon! I am so thrilled about this. This morning I spent a good hour pretending to ski on my brand new Wii (took me that long to beat Henry's score) and then did a little Wii workout (which actually made me sweat, although I am so out of shape that getting up to get some cheese and a diet coke can also do that). And later today, once the dishwasher is installed and we've run the first load, we're heading up to costco to pick up our new 46" television.
I love being a DINK. We need to stop spending money like it's gong out of style, but at the same time we were so good about not spending money for the first 9 months I lived here that we both feel like we have the right to go a little nuts. Plus, work is going really well and I'm going to get my bonus, so it's nice to treat ourselves a bit.
I won't get much of a chance to enjoy all of our new toys, though, as I am off to America in less than a week! I'm so looking forward to spending time with my friends and family, and cannot wait to see everyone and talk as fast as I want (I have to slow it down for the English a bit, rapid fire american doesn't work so well over here). I am most excited about getting to see Hunter and Sarah and to give them lots of kisses and hugs and see how fast they're growing up. I haven't seen Sarah in over a year and I just can't wait to squeeze her!
I'll also have a lot more work to do on the wii when I get home as I am already planning out meals for the time I'm in the US. Mexican, Mexican, Mexican, In-N-Out, Taco Bell, Mexican, Mexican, In-N-Out....it's going to be a good week.
